Bio
Edward Dow is a well-established physician with over twenty-five years of experience in the specialty of Hematology-Oncology. Before coming to the Norfolk Center for Cancer Care & Hematology, Dr. Dow practiced as a senior oncologist at Lahey Clinic, Burlington and Peabody. He has practiced in both academic and community-based settings, starting with his work at Mass General Hospital in 1990 before establishing a private practice at New England Baptist Hospital with privileges at Harvard Medical affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Brigham & Woman’s Faulkner Hospital. He currently holds privileges at Signature Health Brockton Hospital. This gives him a broad and unique perspective of delivery and access to care.
Dr. Dow’s specific area of expertise is blood cancers - multiple myeloma, lymphomas and leukemias as well as Von Willebrand’s Disease and Sickle Cell Anemia. He graduated from Harvard University and went on to receive an M.D. from Tufts University Medical School. He did his internal medicine residency training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago before returning to Tufts Medical Center to undertake specialty fellowship training in hematology/oncology. He also did additional training in bone marrow transplantation for hematologic and genetic diseases at the world - renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle.

The Metricks Celebrate 50 YearsThe Norfolk Center for Cancer Care and Hematology threw a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party for patient Francine Metrick of Easton on June 7, 2011. Shown at the celebration are, from left, Francine Metrick; Dr. Satinder Dhillon, founder of the Norfolk Center for Cancer Care and Hematology; and Steve Metrick. From an Eiffel Tower image on the wall to Ella Fitzgerald crooning "I Love Paris" and a platefull of cookies decorated to look like the Eiffel Tower, the Center took on a French ambience, thanks to Dhillon and her staff. "I knew Francine never got to travel beyone Cape Cod, and she always wanted to see Paris, so we decided to bring Paris to her," Dhillon said. |
Dr. Dhillon Speaks at ConferenceDr. Dhillon was joined by Dr. Steven Lane at a recent conference on breast cancer, given by the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Assn. Dr. Dhillon spoke about treatment modalities and their benefits and adverse effects. Dr Lane, who is the Radiation Oncology Chief at Brockton Hospital, also spoke. |
